Snow is good

February 25th, 2001

My mother called today, about an hour after I was woken by Gustav playing guitar at eleven o'clock (how rude!) so I'd had time for a decent breakfast. It turns out that my parents will be visiting here, in late August or early September. My father says he's always wanted to visit Ireland, so while I'm away must be a good time for it. They intend to stop-over in Stockholm along the way, stay for a few days there, then come to Gothenburg and stay in a hotel or something, but my host parents insist they stay with us as there will be plenty of room because Markus will have left for his exchange in the USA. So, yes, mum and dad, you're staying here whether you like it or not.

After the phone call, I helped a little to prepare for a surprise fiftieth birthday party held here for Ann, a family friend and Amy's host mother. Görel cooked much delicious food, as she does, which was consumed along with plenty of wine and champagne. So, all were merry when I left to visit Courtney.

It's been fairly cold over the past few days and has snowed a little. It hasn't melted yet, which makes paths quite muddy and horrible to travel along, so the light snow brightens everything up and makes for quite a pleasant stroll home of an evening.
