Göteborgskalaset

August 9th, 2001

Jessica (another of the Australians on exchange in Sweden) and her friend, Sharon (an Australian student in Belgium, visiting Jessica) came on Sunday evening to stay for a couple of nights. We took the bus into Gothenburg to see Göteborgskalaset, a big festival in the city with music, various foods and so on. We didn't have too much time on Sunday night, so we pretty much just had a look around and checked the place out. (And laughed at a very bad Christian band.)

On Monday, we took a walk around Kullavik and up to the shop, came back for lunch and listened to Sauce rehearse a little before heading into Gothenburg for our evening's entertainment. We sat by a canal and had a couple of beers/ciders and ate a healthy dinner at McDonald's (sorry Amanda, I had no choice, I swear). A couple of bands were playing but we didn't seem too into any of the music so we 'rode our horses' (Monty Python style) around people to see their reactions. Quite amusing, I must say. (And we laughed another very bad Christian group.)

They left around midday on Tuesday, leaving me all unentertained and stuff. But it was fun having them here…

Markus' and his friends' band, Sauce, played in Kungsbacka twice yesterday, so I went along to see them. Unfortunately there was practically no audience, despite a decent performance. I dropped in my five rolls of colour photos from Denmark today, they should be done in a week or so, then a few on my website whenever I get to a scanner. Speaking of which, here's another random photo of Courtney and a path in the forest, that I didn't realise I hadn't put up.
